I am now sponsored by SkateboardExpress & Vault. First girl to join the team!
I did some skating for Drifter earlier in the year, check it out! I’m the one it the blue shirt !
just-larry asked: With the shape of board. how did you get it to form to the mold? what did you put on top of it? Thanks.
The board is actually being pressed in the recent photo i posted. I know its hard to see but if you look closely you can see a wrapping around the board.
This is the vacuum press. Basically a giant plastic bag which air is pumped out of so that the board is sucked to the mould - and thats how it pulls to the mould.
What i like about using a vacuum press is that it applies even pressure around every inch of the board when its being glued - giving maximum strength between the plies. Also it has more strength than any clamp mould.
If you’re still unsure as to what i mean, feel free to ask !
The DH deck in the press…
… i had some dilemmas today fixing up this deck. In all the tests with this mould, it worked perfect, the ply hugging the mould perfectly. today something was going amiss.
In the end i am settling to do the board in two stages. this is stage one. as you can see I’m a bit annoyed that the kink of the drop down is so gradual, when it worked fine earlier.
Tomorrow i am going to check out the deck and see if its alright… i might have to try it out again and find another way… oh well, we will see tomorrow.
